Fit For A Princess?

This week it was announced that Waitey Katie has at long last gotten her Prince Charming. It’s all the press can talk about – rings, dresses, wedding guests, wedding dates; it goes on and on and on. But what no one has mentioned is the new royal home (!). To me that is far more important.

It got me thinking about how, if I was their designer (I actually – claim to fame – once was asked to go to Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh to review a few paint colours in some of the bedrooms….) how I would furnish their home. Naturally all selections would have to be British.

Here are my top picks!

Lets start with some flooring from Source UK, available now here in Canada. This is rather cheeky and more than fitting for a pair of twenty something’s.

Next a modern take on his and her thrones from Designers Guild, fabric available from Primavera

Farrow & Ball paints are beautiful and every home should have them. I love this combination of Down Pipe & Slipper Satin.

Sudbury Estate Emulsion is also rather lovely when paired with grey trim.

And finally at the end of the day when you just want to block out the outside world, what better than silk interlined draperies with decorative tiebacks from Romo, available in Canada through Bilbrough & Co
