People were happily fuelled along thanks to Mildred’s Temple Kitchen serving the most amazing canapes. We had french fries, pecan pie, brownies and pakora’s all served with champagne and cranberries. I don’t know whether it was the sugar + salt combo, the bubbles, the 20% off all purchases or the DJ cranking out the tunes, but the queue for the cash desk never ended.
West Elm, if you’ve never been before, belongs to the same family as Pottery Barn and Williams Sonoma. It’s the perfect destination for toss pillows (they have the best selection of ready-made pillows in Toronto I think), high-gloss trays, decorative boxes and picture frames.
If you ever want to do a do-it-yourself picture gallery without losing your mind – their frames are the ones to pick. They come with a paper template – this is pure genius! All you have to do is iron the templates flat (they will be creased from having been folded in the box), hang them on the wall with masking tape and then set your nails in the right place. It is so easy.
