Festive Finishes..

In this month’s (December) issue of British Homes & Gardens magazine there is a lovely supplement (2 magazines for 1 really) entitled Festive Finishes – Inspirational ideas for your home this Christmas. I like it for two reasons, firstly it means that most of the festive tip-bits are neatly condensed into one manageable booklet leaving the main magazine to focus on gorgeous winter-inspired interiors and secondly the photography is wonderful.

I neither bake (my niece Robin tried once to teach me) nor decorate with any real zeal over the holidays. A few glass bobbles in a bowl, a large oversized star placed on top of a stack of books & lots of candles – that is about my limit. But the photographs in this supplement even have me wondering if I should do something else. I love the simplicity of the white linen and the greenery – it looks so fresh and yet still festive. This I could handle!

They also have some great recipes – take the Biscotti with Almonds & Figs recipe – bake or buy some, stick them in a lovely china tea cup add some ribbon and you have a gorgeous hostess gift.

Festive Finishes… I love the cup & saucer with biscotti in it as a hostess gift. I’m always trying to think of creative things instead of the usual bottle or two of wine!! I’m going to try this or a variation there of. Thank you!!
