I love skylights! There I’ve said it. I am fortunate to have 3 in my own home. One is in my upper hallway and it makes this rather small space feel much larger than it actually is. We also have two in our en-suite bathroom. These I adore. I think most females prefer natural daylight (especially if you are attempting to apply make-up) and there is nothing nicer than having your bathroom bathed in gorgeous natural light.

My own skylights are the Velux kind, they are nothing like the breathtaking Georgian variety we have back at home. Having grown up in Scotland and having had the luxury of working for many owners of beautiful Georgian town homes in Edinburgh, Glasgow and London I got quite accustomed, some might call it blasé to seeing these stunning architectural beauties on a weekly basis.

We regularly add skylights to our renovation projects – nothing is nicer than having one that opens up for ventilation if you have a third floor. There are two new skylights coming to #ThirdFloorBliss The one that is located over the staircase will be operational – this will transform this floor on a hot day!

As you can probably guess, this week’s post is dedicated to the skylight and here are some of my favourite inspirational images to swoon over!

I think these images below show a stunning use of skylights. This way you can really check out the weather whilst in the comfort of your mudroom – this ensures the appropriate footwear and outwear is selected. How gorgeous.

The addition of the skylights here turn the upper hallways into a destination. I’d love to roll out my yoga mat here, or just sit and breathe and watch the weather roll by.

I might actually want to cook and prepare meals if my kitchen looked like this!

Another ideal location for a skylight is in a bathroom – this allows you privacy will still allowing lots of natural light. Simply stunning.
